Together with our university, industry, and not-for-profits partners, we’re advancing democratic principles and processes for technology that will mitigate harm and forge more durable ethical outcomes for AI.

What We Do

  • AlphaPersuade Summit

    February 2024

    Our inaugural summit on persuasion and AI hosted the the Beall Applied Innovation at UC-Irvine, with sponsors including AI-LA, Macmillan, and others.

    Responding to the call from industry to address AI’s persuasive ability, the AlphaPersuade summit presents a framework for ethical persuasion that can be tooled across AI technologies.

  • RhetAI Coalition

    June 2024

    The RhetAI team announces the establishment of a groundbreaking research and advocacy Coalition to respond to AI’s unprecedented and often invisible powers of persuasion. Led by researchers at Stony Brook University, coalition members include the Center for Humane Technology, the international leader in the fight for a just and ethical AI, and the Center for Rhetorical Science Communication Research on Artificial Intelligence at the University of Tubingen (Germany).
